Palarena Terms of Use — Players

1. Purpose
These terms govern your account and your use of Palarena, operated by PALARENA, identified in the legal notice. Palarena lets you view Clubs, book, manage your participations and payments, and use the sports and community features offered.
2. Role of Palarena and role of the Clubs
The Club identified in the offer is the seller and the sports provider. It sets its offers, prices, availability, access rules and cancellation rules. Its terms of sale are presented before the order and kept with the confirmation.
Palarena provides the software, connects users and provides the technical payment interface; it does not operate the facilities and does not provide the Club’s service. The Club’s passes are separate from the Palarena account. The player account is free: no Palarena fee is added to the price of the service.
3. Account creation and security
The account is personal and reserved for people who are at least 18 years old and have the capacity to contract. You provide accurate information, verify your email address and protect your means of access. Promptly report any suspicious access to contact@palarena.com. Impersonating someone else, transferring the account and circumventing a suspension are prohibited.
A minor may take part in a match or an activity booked by an adult, under the responsibility of their legal representative and under the Club’s terms.
4. Profile and visibility
Your sports profile and your results can be viewed by signed-in users. Your Partners profile is visible only if you turn it on (article 17). An invitation link may show the display names and avatars of the participants to anyone who has it, even without an account: share it only with the intended recipients. Contact details and banking information are not public.
The privacy policy specifies which information is visible and what your rights are. Do not add confidential data to your profile. Its visibility does not authorize any marketing or general reuse of your data.
5. Bookings and payments
Before ordering, check the seller, the service, the total price including all taxes, the payment schedule and the cancellation terms. The booking is confirmed when Palarena indicates so and sends its electronic confirmation.
Stripe processes the payment for the Club. It may be immediate or deferred, as shown in the summary; preparing a card does not mean that the price has already been paid. Optionally saving a card for future purchases requires a separate choice and does not allow other orders to be charged without your agreement. Palarena does not receive the full card number.
The Club handles difficulties relating to the service and any refunds due. Palarena handles technical difficulties at contact@palarena.com.
6. Public matches, activities and participants
The terms for booking a court, creating or joining a match or registering for an activity specify the price of your share, the capacity, the withdrawal rules and, where there is one, the match’s viability deadline. An invitation creates neither an account nor a payment obligation for its recipient. Attaching the recipient’s participations to an account later requires verifying the corresponding email address.
Comply with the level, access and safety conditions announced. You are responsible for your conduct and assess your own fitness to play.
7. Prohibited conduct and content
The following are prohibited: illegal content, impersonation, harassment, threats, discrimination, disclosing third parties’ data without the right to do so, fraud, undermining security, unauthorized bulk or automated extraction, unauthorized marketing and repeatedly sending requests or messages to a player who has turned them down.
You retain your rights in your content and warrant that you hold the rights necessary to publish it. You grant Palarena a non-exclusive, worldwide and royalty-free license limited to hosting, technically reproducing, reformatting and displaying it in the service, for as long as these functions require. This license does not permit independent advertising use.
The software, trademarks and creations of Palarena and its licensors remain protected. No right is granted beyond the use of the service and the exceptions provided by law.
8. Reporting and moderation
You can report a profile or a message from the app with the “Report” action, or report illegal content or conduct. The reporting and appeal procedure explains which information is useful and how contesting works.
Palarena may remove content, restrict a feature or suspend or close an account in the event of a breach of the law or of these terms, a security risk or an infringement of the rights of others. The measure is proportionate to the seriousness and repetition of the facts. Except in the case of a legal prohibition or a security imperative, its reason and the available appeal are communicated to the user.
9. Availability and changes to the service
Palarena uses reasonable means to ensure availability and security. Maintenance or an incident may interrupt the service.
A substantial change to these terms is announced on a durable medium before it comes into force, with an appropriate lead time and the option to close the account. A new acceptance or a consent is obtained where necessary. Orders already placed are not changed retroactively.
10. Liability
Palarena is liable for its own digital obligations and its own fault. The Club is liable for the facility, the coaching and the service it sells. You are liable for your actions and the information you provide.
No clause excludes a liability or a mandatory right, in particular in the event of bodily injury, willful misconduct (dol), gross negligence (faute lourde) or breach of an essential obligation.
11. Personal data and trackers
The privacy policy describes the processing and how to exercise your rights. Optional trackers are subject to the required choices, which can be changed at any time. Optional consents are separate from the acceptance of these terms.
12. Term, closure and deletion of the account
These terms apply while the account is in use. You may request its closure without giving a reason at contact@palarena.com; identity checks are proportionate.
Closure ends future features and the display of the active profile. Only the data necessary for ongoing commitments, disputes or legal obligations is kept, in accordance with the privacy policy. Bookings and refunds already under way continue to be processed. Closure does not automatically terminate a Club pass: you are informed of the steps and commitments under way.
13. Complaints and remedies

For the sports service, the competent mediator is that of the selling Club, indicated in its terms of sale. Exchanges with Palarena do not limit the applicable amicable means of resolution or the remedies before the competent authorities or courts.
14. Governing law
French law applies, without depriving a consumer of the more protective mandatory provisions of their country of residence. The competent courts are determined by law.
15. Sports scores
A result may be declared, confirmed or contested under the rules of the match. The calculated level is a sports estimate, with no official certification or guarantee of ability. Report errors to contact@palarena.com.
16. Rights attached to the digital service
The mandatory rights attached to the service remain applicable. The player account is free and funded by the Clubs’ software subscriptions. Palarena does not sell your personal data and does not use it for its own marketing to players.
17. Partners and messaging
Partners helps you find players to play with, sport by sport. Your profile appears there only if you make it visible for a sport, with a home city and a level. Signed-in players then see your first name, your photo, your city, the distance between you in kilometers, your level and where it comes from, your playing hand and side, your playing goals, your tournament categories and the play dates you have in common. Your address and your exact location are not shown. Visibility lasts 30 days and renews each time you save your profile; you can turn it off at any time.
A share link is created for your visible profile. Anyone who has it, even without an account, sees your first name, your photo, your city, your level, your playing hand and side, your playing goals and your tournament categories. It is shared only if you share it. It stops working if you disable it, if you hide or save your profile again, if you change city or when the visibility ends.
Suggested players are ranked according to the criteria described on the “How the Palarena Intermediation Service Works” page. The compatibility score compares two profiles; it does not assess a player’s reliability and does not prevent any contact.
You can follow a player; they see that you follow them. You can suggest a game to them with a first message; the conversation opens if they accept, and a request with no answer expires. Palarena limits the number of requests, in particular after a refusal or a request left unanswered. You can archive a conversation, block a player and report a profile or a message. A blocked player can no longer write to you, and you no longer see each other in Partners.
Messages are meant for the two players in the conversation. Palarena does not read them, except a message reported to it or when the law requires it. Do not share banking details in them, or any information you do not want to entrust to the other player. A breach may lead to the measures in article 8.
