Palarena places you on a scale from 1 to 8, from first steps to elite. A 7-question quiz gives you a starting level in about 2 minutes, and your level then changes with the results of your competitive matches.
Your level shows on every open match. It helps you find games and partners who play like you.
The padel level scale
Each level describes what you can do in a match, not how long you have been playing.

The 7-question level test
The quiz describes match situations, such as holding a rally, playing off the glass, lobbing, coming to the net, smashing, moving with your partner and playing under pressure. For each one, you pick the answer that sounds most like you. Torn between two answers? Pick the lower one.
The test places you between levels 1 and 6. Levels 7 and 8 are earned through results.
Your level changes with your matches
After a competitive match, one player enters the score and the other team confirms it. Every confirmed result moves your level according to your opponents’ level, and beating stronger players moves you up further.
A disputed score does not count until it is settled, and friendly matches do not change your level.
What your level is for
It shows on open matches alongside the other players’ levels, and an organiser can limit a game to a level range. In Partners, it is used to suggest players close to your game.
Pickleball has its own scale, from 1 to 5, and its own quiz.

What padel level is a beginner?
A beginner is at level 1 or 2 on the Palarena scale. At level 1, you are learning the rules and how to return the ball. At level 2, you can hold a few slow rallies and are learning the basic shots.
Is the Palarena level the same as a federation ranking?
No. A federation ranking comes from official tournaments. The Palarena level is there to help you find games and partners at your level, at every Palarena club.
Can I take the test again?
The quiz is taken once per sport. After that, your competitive matches move your level.
