How the Palarena Intermediation Service Works
1. Who sells the service?
Each sports offer is sold and provided by the professional Club identified on the Club page and before payment. The Club chooses the services it publishes, their characteristics, their availability, their prices and their cancellation policies.
Palarena provides the digital service that allows Clubs to manage their activity and players to browse, book and pay. Palarena does not operate the courts and is not the seller of the sports service.
Payment is processed via Stripe Connect. The Club remains the merchant of record. Palarena transmits the technical instructions necessary for payment directly on the Club’s Stripe account and for the tracking of operations under its agreement with the Club.
2. Palarena’s remuneration
Palarena is mainly remunerated by the software subscription paid by the Clubs.
The launch offer is €149 excl. VAT/month or €1,490 excl. VAT/year. At launch, Palarena charges no commission on the Club’s sales and no per-payment processing fee. Stripe invoices its own services to the Club under their separate agreement.
In the current version:
- no Palarena commission is charged on Club→player bookings, passes or memberships;
- no Palarena fee is added to the price paid by the player;
- no Club can buy a better position in the results;
- no sponsored offer is available.
If one of these rules changes, the public information, the applicable terms and the screens concerned are updated before activation, in compliance with the notice periods and acquired rights. The publication of a page does not replace a required contractual agreement.
3. Conditions for listing a Club
To be presented and to accept bookings, a Club must in particular:
- be a professional or an organization authorized to offer the activities concerned;
- provide and maintain its identity, its contact details and its regulatory information;
- have a Stripe Connect account validated for online payment;
- publish fair information about its offers, its prices and availability;
- provide its terms of sale, its cancellation policy and its mediator;
- comply with the Palarena agreement, consumer rights, data protection and sports safety rules;
- have an active right of access to the Palarena software.
Palarena may request supporting documents, refuse an incomplete publication, restrict an offer or suspend a Club under the conditions of the Professional Agreement.
4. Ranking and presentation of results
Eligible Clubs are presented in order of increasing geographical distance from the search point provided. At equal distance, a stable identifier of the Club breaks the tie between results: it is neither a quality rating nor a price paid to Palarena.
The selected filters, in particular sport and availability search on a date, exclude the Clubs that do not match them. Where availability is searched for, the Clubs retained keep the distance order; the result is not re-ranked according to the price of their slot. Availability and the other details must be checked in the offer before booking.
The SaaS subscription is a condition of general eligibility for publication. Its amount or its billing frequency does not buy a better position. Palarena offers neither sponsorship nor paid ranking at launch, and does not itself sell sports offers in competition with those of the Clubs.
5. Delisting, restriction and suspension
An offer or a Club may be limited or removed in particular in the event of:
- false, misleading, outdated or incomplete information;
- a risk to safety;
- a lack of insurance, authorization or mandatory mediator;
- fraud, a past-due payment or an actual restriction of the Stripe capabilities necessary for operations;
- a breach of consumer rights or of data protection;
- unlawful content or a breach of the Palarena agreement;
- expiry of the right of access to the software.
Palarena communicates to the Club the reasons and the means of contesting, in accordance with the notice periods and exceptions of the Professional Agreement. A mere request for documents by Stripe that leaves the capabilities active does not on its own lead to the termination of the SaaS. The obligations linked to bookings already concluded remain.
6. Complaints
For a difficulty relating to the facility or the activity, the player contacts the selling Club. For a technical difficulty related to Palarena, the player contacts contact@palarena.com.
The contact details of the Club’s mediator appear in its terms of sale where this mechanism is applicable. Palarena’s mediator handles only consumer disputes concerning Palarena’s own services.
A Club may contest a listing, restriction or suspension decision at contact@palarena.com.
7. Access to data
The Club accesses the data necessary for its own offers, bookings, participants, payments and customer relationships. It does not access the player’s data relating to other Clubs.
Palarena accesses the data necessary for the platform-wide operation of the account, booking, security, payment and compliance with its obligations. The details appear in the privacy policy and the Professional Agreement.
